A Brand New Year!

Monday starts my 10th year as a kindergarten teacher at Ware Elementary.  There is nothing more exciting than the first day back to school, even for teachers!  No matter how many "first days of school" I've had, each one is exciting because each one marks the beginning of a great adventure.  Kindergarten is a great milestone in each of our lives.  There is no doubt that many of you remember bits and pieces of your first day of kindergarten:  walking into the "big" school, meeting your teacher and playing with your new found friends, learning to read, playing on the playground, and checking out books from the library for the first time.  Soon your child will begin the same incredible adventure and I am so honored to be a part of it.

This year is going to be quiet exciting.  Your child will learn his/her letters and numbers and begin reading and writing as well as doing simple computations using addition and subtraction.  In addition your child will learn social skills including getting along with others and settling conflict.  A lot goes on in kindergarten.  Our days are jam packed with essential learning, fun activities, and much, much more.  It is my goal this year to keep you as up to date and informed as possible with what goes on inthe classroom so that you can be as much a part of your child's kindergarten adventure as possible.  This blog is how I will contact you with the regular happenings in our classroom.  I will usually update the blog weekly
